The 2018 Steam Summer Sale ended over two months ago, but I still can’t stop thinking about the awesome games that were featured during the two-week sale that ended on the 5th of July.
Below you will find a list of the hottest games that were highlighted during this year’s Steam Summer Sale. To those of you, who are fond of adventure and action games, make sure not to miss out on any of these awesome games.
Prey, which is developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, is a first-person shooter survival horror video game with a role-playing game element and compelling storyline. As a player, you will get to play as Morgan Yu and climb on board Talos I, a space station that is orbiting the moon.
In the game, you wake up just to find out that most of the people on board the space station are already dead, killed by hostile aliens called Typhon. From then onwards, you will have to choose certain attributes of Morgan and make decisions that could likely affect elements of the story.
In order to beat the Typhon and survive, you will have to control Morgan and collect weapons and resources that are aboard the station.
Developed by Colossal Order, Cities: Skylines is a single-player and open-ended game where you get to play both god and civil engineer and grow a tiny town into an ideal metropolis. You will get to engage in urban planning by means of managing various sectors like zoning, road placement, taxation, public services, and public transportation of a given place.
In Cities: Skylines, you will be pouring hours into putting an end to traffic jams, allocation of neighborhoods, and molding your new area for expansion. You will also be responsible for maintaining the city’s health and employment, budget, and pollution levels.
If you wish, you could also choose to purchase expansion packs so that you could bring more elements into the simulation and make it more fun.
Jackbox Party Pack 1 – 4
The Jackbox Party Pack is a series of party video games that are developed by Jackbox Games. It could be played on several different platforms such as Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, macOS, and Android devices.
Most games in the Party Packs are developed solely for online play and are ideal to be played with large groups but require just one person to own and launch the game.
In these games, players can engage in humorous clashes of intelligence, humor, trivia, and doodling.
Red Strings Club
The Red Strings Club is an adventure game that is developed by Deconstructeam. It is a story-driven adventure game that tackles the issues of transhumanism, AI, and morality against an unusual cyberpunk setting.
In the game, you will be playing Donovan and will be managing The Red Strings, a secret drinking establishment. Using your skills in bartending and ingenuity, try to uncover a corporate conspiracy to control society.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, also known as PUBG, is an online multiplayer battle Royale-themed game that is developed by PUBG Corporation. It is one of the most popular mobile games today. In PUBG, you join 99 other players in various locations where you pick up weapons, ammo, gear, and vehicles from different points in the area in order to survive. The goal of the game is to be the last one standing among the 100 players in a certain location by taking down other players.
As the game progresses, the battleground gradually shrinks in size, leaving you no choice but to fight unless you want to be taken down.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the third installment of the game that is based on the Polish fantasy novels of the same name.
In The Witcher 3, you get to be the renowned monster hunter named Geralt. Your mission is to look for your adopted daughter and find out about the supernatural Wild Hunt that is also looking for her while also finding your way through a war-torn country and lending help to those in need of your skills.
These are all excellent game choices that will surely be worth your time. If you’re looking for something more, perhaps you might find something interesting at next year’s Steam Summer Sale.
